Lem has practiced law in Rankin County, Mississippi, for more than thirty years. He focuses his practice on government representation, real estate, business services, and litigation.

Lem currently serves as Board Attorney for the Rankin County Board of Supervisors.

In January 2011, Lem was elected to serve as President-Elect of The Mississippi Bar. Lem will serve as President of The Mississippi Bar Association beginning in July, 2012.

Lem served as Board Attorney for the City of Brandon (12 years), the City of Flowood (15 years) and the Town of Pelahatchie (12 years).

Lem met his wife Marcia while they were students at Ole Miss.  Lem and Marcia have been married forty (40) years and have two adult children, Whitty A. McCloud of Baton Rouge, LA and Lem IV of Brandon, Ms. and one granddaughter, Morgan,  who Lem says is “definitely above average”.  Lem enjoys golf, duck hunting and fly fishing and is a New York Yankee fanatic.

Lem has served as Ruling Elder at Lakeland Presbyterian Church, PCA. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Deacons at First Baptist Church of Brandon and taught adult bible class for ten years.  Lem currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Desire Street Ministries, an inner city ministry in New Orleans, LA.
